Authentism - 90 years

Adam Fulara was one of the invited guests at the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the emergence of authenticity, which coincided with the publication of a definition of this movement in the monthly "Okolica Poetów" in a text authored by Stanisław Czernik.

There, he spoke about translating Czernik's ideas into the abstract language of music. Czernik argued that poetry should be based solely on deep, subjective, and real experiences; only then does it become organic. Someone who hasn't been to sea shouldn't write about sailing, at least not as an authentic poet. A similar idea applies to finding one's own style in music, which, in my opinion, doesn't arise from "random synthesis and copying," but beyond these processes also includes ideas and concepts that the composer or improviser devotes time to and immerses themselves in until they become "personal experiences and experiences." Such a musician practices and lives music differently, and uses expression differently, than a musician who merely mixes formulas, licks, and fragments of pieces. According to Adam Fulara, the difference between an authentic and an inauthentic musician is the same as between an improvising and a non-improvising musician. As an example of this line of thinking, a quote from Allan Holdsworth (REH video) was given: "If I were to impart something important to you with this lesson... I deeply believe that the most important thing in music is to rediscover sound phenomena in your own way. Then these phenomena become very meaningful to you, you understand them on a much deeper level than if you were just repeating exercises someone showed you. Even if you think you hear and understand such learned phenomena, there will always be a certain superficiality; for me, there always was. I would like to encourage everyone to work hard on designing... yourselves. Good luck!"

Professor Szajdak's lecture and a good book about authentic artists were very interesting. And another remarkable fact: the manifesto of authenticity was created at 2 Okrężna Street, next to Adam Fulara's house.
