Fulara's Method in TopFloor

Shining eyes - this can be said about the participants of the Fulary Method workshops, which took place on March 1-3, 2025 at the TopFloor music school in Bydgoszcz. Intermediate participants had most often been struggling with the problem of lack of development, stagnation, or had tried to learn other methods of playing harmony (mainly CAGED, but there was also talk of scale-chord) for a long time, but they did not use them for a larger number of chords, e.g. in improvisation to some older POP songs or jazz standards, where there are a lot of functions to play.

The students of the workshops were above average engaged, which is why in two days it was possible to cover almost all the most important basics of the Fulary Method and play two simple songs ("Earth Song" and "Mercy, Mercy Me"). Let us recall: the Fulary Method is the smartest and fastest to learn method of playing harmony that exists at all. Learning four simple schemes of arranging components completely replaces learning scales, arpeggios and other structures, which allows you to quickly move to a different level of education: focus on rhythm, phrasing, articulation, expression, timing, form development and other elements of music. Most importantly, it was possible to feel that MF actually helps musicians understand improvisation after the components of functions, conscious targeting and this learning was able to really help them. Of course, now is the time for further development and independent study of materials, but the first effects were already visible in classes. This is very pleasing. The TopFloor School under the leadership of Kuba Galiński has joined the growing list of Polish music schools where teachers will teach the Fulary Method. TopFloor, Bydgoszcz, March 1-3, 2025.
